Chris is an experienced classroom teacher who has worked in both Key Stages 1 and 2. As an Advanced Skilled Teacher of ICT/Computing he was responsible for providing a range of support packages to schools, including running the Bristol ICT Best Practice Seminars for Bristol City Council and providing outreach support to primary and secondary schools. Chris has experience of supporting headteachers, senior management teams, subject leaders and teachers in order to enhance standards of teaching and learning through the use of digital technologies.   Chris can provide CPD support in the following areas:   Planning:

  • Planning overviews for the Computing curriculum
  • Working with teachers on a 1:1 basis to plan lessons/schemes of work

Observing lessons/Action Planning:

  • Computing lessons from year 1-6
  • Integrating digital technologies - English/ foundation subjects

Computing Curriculum Introduction to the new Computing curriculum and statutory requirements in KS1 and KS2
Computer Programming Introduction to computer programming (Years 1-6).
Digital Tools for Learning Using digital technologies such as green screens, QR codes, webcams, IWB and mobile devices to enhance teaching and learning.
Blogging How to setup and maintain your own school blog and use it to provide purposeful writing experiences, whilst developing links with the local and international community.
Animation Introduction to animation and how it can be used as a stimulus for writing.
Multimedia (Video and Audio) Editing How to develop cross curricular writing projects through creating and editing multimedia in order to produce films or podcasts.
Twitter for CPD Developing effective CPD opportunities in your school through using Twitter as a CPD tool.
